During a 'market research survey on another subject; the opportunity was taken to ask a stratified random sample of private householders in the north east of England whether they owned a fire extinguisher, and if so, what type. AIthough the responses were somewhat lacking in detail, it was felt that they were of sufficient value to justify making an analysis generally available.
